Role Overview

The Azure Engineer is tasked with enhancing and securing our cloud framework, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Utilizing your proficiency in Microsoft Azure, you will work to bolster system resilience, apply security best practices, and manage resources efficiently. Your responsibilities will include spearheading continuous improvement efforts and overseeing financial management strategies.

In addition, you will ensure the smooth integration of emerging technologies, support DevOps methodologies to refine deployment processes, and maintain thorough documentation. You will also be pivotal in monitoring system performance, executing performance optimizations, and contributing to business continuity strategies.

Key Responsibilities:


• Identify and implement automation opportunities, performance improvements, and infrastructure enhancements to adapt to changing business requirements.


• Guarantee the high availability and reliability of cloud services by formulating and upholding disaster recovery strategies, conducting regular performance evaluations, and establishing redundancy and failover protocols.


• Enforce security and compliance best practices within the Azure ecosystem, conduct periodic security assessments, ensure adherence to industry regulations, and respond swiftly to security incidents.


• Analyze and monitor cloud expenditures, propose and execute cost-reduction strategies, and effectively utilize cost management tools.


• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of cloud services.


• Maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure, enhancements, best practices, and performance metrics. Generate regular reports on system performance, security status, and financial management.


• Provide mentorship and training to team members and other departments regarding Azure best practices and optimizations.


• Lead and engage in incident response initiatives, ensuring minimal service disruption and prompt issue resolution.


• Participate in architectural design discussions to align system capabilities with organizational objectives.

Oversee the management of certificates and secrets within the Azure environment, ensuring timely rotation and compliance with security protocols. Implement automated processes for certificate and secret renewal and replacement to uphold system integrity and security.

Qualifications:


• Demonstrated experience as an Azure Engineer or in a comparable position with a comprehensive understanding of Azure services, architecture, and best practices.


• In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.


• Experience with Azure cost management and budgeting tools, alongside the implementation of cost-saving initiatives.


• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.


• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to non-technical audiences.


• Relevant Azure certifications are highly advantageous.


• A commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
