About the Cybersecurity Team at Tesco Technology
Our cybersecurity team is the backbone of our organization, providing unparalleled visibility and protection of systems, services, and data. To stay ahead of the latest threats, we continuously improve our tooling, techniques, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security processes to protect the Tesco Group from cyber threats.
- Collaborate with software and systems engineering teams to ensure security throughout the development lifecycle.
- Design and implement proactive monitoring and response systems to detect and mitigate security events.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and address security gaps in software engineering practices.
- Develop and deliver training on application security products and best practices to both security and engineering teams.
- Write and maintain documentation on application security products and processes.
- Promote security best practices across the organization.
- Design and implement automation and monitoring systems to enforce security policies and detect threats.
Requirements
- Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language: Python, JavaScript, Java.
- Experience supporting, administering, and building cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure).
- Experience configuring at least one continuous integration tool: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
- Proven experience operating & administering Linux distributions: RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS.
- Understanding of containerization and container orchestration: Docker & Kubernetes.
- Strong operations & technical troubleshooting experience.
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and common tools: JIRA, Git, GitHub, Nexus.
- Good understanding of architecture and design principles.
- Understanding of common Application Security Tooling: SCA/SAST/DAST/IaC Security.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, Mitre Top 25, and CVSS frameworks, mapping to business risk.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A team player with a collaborative mindset.
