Senior Philanthropy Specialist

Are you dedicated to fostering impactful connections and driving significant change? The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is on the lookout for a Senior Philanthropy Specialist to enhance our Income Generation Directorate. This role presents a remarkable chance to support our vision by engaging with major benefactors and securing essential funding.

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Philanthropy Manager to cultivate a proactive and sustainable major donor strategy. Your responsibilities will encompass managing relationships with a portfolio of significant donors and prospects, ensuring they remain engaged with our mission while addressing their unique stewardship requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Philanthropy Manager in strategic planning to expand our major donor program.
  • Leveraging insights from your relationship management to identify opportunities and secure substantial contributions.
  • Developing and implementing stewardship tools to guide donors through their philanthropic journey, including tailored cultivation plans and proposals.
  • Facilitating and participating in meetings and events to strengthen donor relationships.

Collaboration is essential in this position, as you will engage with colleagues and volunteers across the organization to bolster our fundraising initiatives.

To excel in this role, you should possess a solid understanding of industry trends, best practices, and compliance requirements. Accurate documentation and reporting of your activities and portfolio will be crucial in contributing to the team's performance metrics.

What We Seek:

We are looking for a highly skilled communicator capable of articulating ideas clearly and persuasively. Experience in securing major gifts or managing influential partnerships is essential, ideally within a similar context in the nonprofit or commercial sectors. Building and nurturing strong relationships with individuals and organizations at all levels is critical.

A proven history of achieving or surpassing financial targets is preferred. You should be innovative and flexible, with the ability to recognize and seize opportunities. Proficiency in IT is important, and familiarity with fundraising software is advantageous.

You should be adept at prioritizing tasks and working collaboratively across various teams. A valid driving license for travel is desirable but not mandatory.
