Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Midwife
  • SSSA Practice Assessor/Mentorship qualification
  • NIPE qualification

Desirable

  • High Dependency Midwifery qualification
  • Master’s degree or currently pursuing one.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to practice across all areas of a fully integrated maternity service.
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Clinically proficient in various skills including cannulation, perineal suturing, and water births.

Desirable

  • Experience in theatre scrubbing.

Experience

Essential

  • 3 to 4 years of experience as a band 6 midwife.
  • Knowledge and experience in risk management.
  • Familiarity with Datix.
  • Understanding of complaints management.

Desirable

  • Evidence of initiating and implementing change processes.
