Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labour Ward Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership to midwifery and non-midwifery staff, ensuring effective management of the daily activity and flow within the maternity service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to midwifery and non-midwifery staff to ensure effective management of the daily activity and flow within the maternity service.
  • Ensure high standards of midwifery care, reduction in length of stay, and responsiveness to individualised needs, thus increasing women and birthing people satisfaction.
  • Be visible within the unit for staff and have a helicopter view of the unit to be clinically aware of the needs of the service.
  • Liaise with the rota coordinator to ensure the unit complies with safe staffing requirements.
  • Maintain and accurately reflect the availability of staff in rotas.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or relevant clinical experience.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
