Maternity Unit Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Midwife to join our team as a Labour Ward Coordinator. This is a senior midwifery role within the organisation, and we are looking for someone who can provide clinical leadership and management of the daily activity and flow within the maternity service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership to midwifery and non-midwifery staff, ensuring effective management of the daily activity and flow within the maternity service.
- Ensure high standards of midwifery care, reduction in length of stay, and responsiveness to individualised needs, thus increasing women and birthing people satisfaction.
- Be visible within the unit for staff and have a helicopter view of the unit, ensuring clinical awareness of the needs of the service while ensuring staffing is deployed to provide a high standard of care to women/birthing people.
- Liaise with the rota coordinator to ensure the unit complies with safe staffing requirements.
- Ensure rotas are maintained and accurately reflect the availability of staff.
- Registered Midwife with extensive band 6 experience.
- Degree in related field.
- Recent evidence of clinical or professional development.
- Mentorship course or equivalent teaching experience.
