About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Victim Support Officer to join our team in South Wales. As a key member of our Victim Focus team, you will play a vital role in providing support to victims of crime, ensuring they receive the necessary information and resources to recover from their experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to victims of crime, ensuring they have access to appropriate information and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to identify the needs of service users and empower them to take control of their journey.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with voluntary and statutory agencies to ensure a comprehensive support network for victims.
  • Conduct assessments and provide tailored support to victims, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless service delivery and effective communication with victims.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and the impact of crime on victims and witnesses.
  • Experience of working in a challenging and changing environment.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and maintain confidentiality and data protection.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively and sensitively.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues and legislation.
