Job Overview

The expansion of our client's operations has led to the creation of the Counterparty Network Specialist role. This position presents a unique opportunity to spearhead initiatives as a Counterparty Network expert, playing a crucial role in the operational framework of our client's Markets.


Your enthusiasm for enhancing processes will be pivotal. By thoroughly understanding counterparties and their diverse requirements, you will ensure that client standards are consistently met with excellence and efficiency, laying the groundwork for a robust counterparty network.


Managing multiple projects concurrently while fostering cross-departmental collaboration will allow you to elevate the counterparty experience and refine governance strategies.

Your communication skills will be essential in cultivating strong relationships across the organization, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.


With meticulous attention to detail, you will contribute to the achievement of our client's ambitious goals and long-term strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities (6-12 months)

Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Reviews

  • Oversee and manage the EDD review process, ensuring compliance with the highest standards.
  • Effectively manage the company's counterparty network.

Counterparty Governance

  • Evaluate and redesign the counterparty governance framework to align with strategic objectives and facilitate ongoing management as the organization grows.

Ongoing Counterparty Management

  • Establish a comprehensive system to monitor and organize all counterparty engagements in line with performance dashboards. This includes scheduling reviews and meetings, maintaining reporting, preparing internal policy documents, managing bank relationships, ensuring compliance with counterparty risk controls, optimizing trade/payment processes, and maximizing interest on balances.

Document Management

  • Create and maintain a systematic approach for managing counterparty engagements, including the development of a company presentation deck, a repository of responses to common inquiries, agreed-upon data points, and essential documents/policies. This system aims to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance response times to requests.

Internal Communication

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to produce regular updates that inform the business about counterparty network activities.

Counterparty Optimization

  • Drive counterparty expansion by analyzing and utilizing untapped capabilities, ensuring stakeholder engagement to advance initiatives.
  • Manage projects related to new capability adoption, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Work with Finance to enhance counterparty cost efficiency.
  • Identify and address gaps within the counterparty network, proposing strategic solutions to enhance business focus.

Trade/Credit Risk Management

  • Ensure effective management and continuous development of the trade/credit risk sector as the organization scales. Focus on implementing robust credit risk management practices to support growth and mitigate potential risks.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related role (experience in FX & payments is preferred).
  • Highly organized and adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills are essential; you should be confident and articulate to drive progress.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and willing to challenge norms in pursuit of the best outcomes for the organization.
  • High ethical standards to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Curiosity and a desire to grow within a forward-thinking organization.
  • A collaborative team player.
