Position Overview:
The Counterparty Risk Management Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of the Traded Credit Risk function within Talent Solution TAPFIN. This position is designed to support senior leadership in various critical areas, ensuring robust risk management practices are upheld throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Implementation of assurance initiatives as part of the overall risk management strategy.
  • Preparation of necessary documentation in response to requests from assurance and external audit teams.
  • Management and review of global traded risk processes, including validation of data for metrics such as Effective Expected Positive Exposure (EEPE), Expected Exposure (EE), and Counterparty Credit Risk Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA).
  • Daily attestation of movements in Counterparty Credit Risk.
  • Facilitation of global alignment on projects, including Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD) Internal Models Methodology (IMM) and financing measures.
  • Monitoring of daily credit limit breaches to identify and report any unauthorized trading activities across multiple balance sheets.
  • Providing support to the Global Markets front office regarding credit limit breach referrals and offering guidance on credit exposure calculation methodologies.
  • Reviewing management information (MI) and reports for senior leadership, front office teams, and relationship managers.
  • Delivering daily credit risk measurement, reporting, and analysis for management, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Supervising a nearshore team to ensure efficient daily business operations.

Role Contributions:
The role holder will contribute significantly to a resilient Traded Credit Risk function by:
  • Overseeing excess positions to ensure compliance with sales and trading policies.
  • Assisting in the development of globally consistent operating models for existing processes and upcoming initiatives.
  • Reviewing credit risk metrics for multiple balances to ensure accuracy in RWA calculations.
  • Monitoring MI to identify and manage adverse risk trends or concentrations within the portfolio.
  • Actively participating in the implementation of strategic and tactical systems, processes, and reporting for the Traded Credit Risk team.
  • Streamlining Traded Counterparty Credit Risk processes across major European hubs and global locations.
  • Ensuring that data regulatory reporting and the nearshore team maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, and completeness to meet the growing demands of Traded Risk.

Essential Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial markets environment within a similar control function.
  • Strong understanding of Traded Counterparty Credit Risk concepts and systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various asset classes, including rates, foreign exchange, equities, and credit products, and their implications for counterparty and portfolio risk.
  • Ability to develop tools and management information using programming languages such as VBA, C++, SQL, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with processes and procedures related to risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage high-volume workflows effectively.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage resources efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
