Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Network Specialist to join our team based in Ludlow, Shropshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of complex electrical schemes on our distribution network.

Main Responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of complex electrical schemes on the network.
  • Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of complex protection and automation systems.
  • Location and restoration of complex faults.
  • Development of fault location and protection testing equipment.
  • Advising team members on innovations in electricity network management and automation.
  • Identifying training needs and providing training on automation.
  • Liaising with other specialists within the company.
  • Training staff on operational aspects of automatic systems.
  • Staying up-to-date with equipment and automation system developments.
  • Determining short-term work plans within known constraints.
  • Carrying out network operations, including issuing safety documents.
  • Issuing planned shutdown notices and making appointments with customers.
  • Exercising leadership and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Assisting with the assessment and authorization of operational staff.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly skilled and mobile individual who can work effectively throughout the area. A flexible attitude and ability to undertake other duties to assist the team in meeting its objectives are essential.

Requirements

  • English and Maths GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 or above.
  • Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 qualification.
  • Ability to undertake HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering if not already attained.

Security Clearance

This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service check, depending on the role, different levels of screening and vetting are required.
