About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Outpatients Department at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our clinical staff in providing exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in patient assessment and deliver high standards of care under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner or Assistant Practitioner.
  • Perform area-specific clinical competencies to enhance patient care and therapy.
  • Under supervision, follow individual care treatment plans and report any changes to the Registered Practitioner or Assistant Practitioner.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to clear and concise patient records and documentation, adhering to national standards and trust policies and procedures.
  • Obtain consent prior to giving care or therapy in accordance with Trust Consent Policy.
  • Provide information to other members of the multidisciplinary team on the care or therapy provided.
  • Undertake transfer or escort of patients from one area to another after appropriate delegation from the Registered Practitioner within their scope of practice.
  • Provide clinical care or therapy in accordance with infection prevention and health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote health education specific to the clinical area and in line with national and local policies.
  • Initiate and participate in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation procedures.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3
  • Essential criteria: NVQ level 3, Venepuncture, Acute hospital experience
  • Desirable criteria: Evidence of competency achieved, Physiological Measurements
