The Community Housing Support Specialist will engage with at-risk households to avert the threat of homelessness. This role primarily focuses on assisting families who are either maintaining their current housing or are in the process of transitioning to secure their own living arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver training in home management and essential life skills.
- Offer guidance and assistance in accessing local support services.
- Provide support for tenancy maintenance.
- Execute tasks and follow procedures as directed by the Housing Support Officer or Housing Support Assistants.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions with service users, ensuring they are comprehensive and up-to-date for auditing purposes.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience working with individuals facing multiple challenges.
- Background in multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Possession of SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or a similar qualification in Housing or a related discipline.
- Commitment to pursuing mandatory SSSC Registration.
- Ongoing maintenance of SSSC registration through continuous training and skill development.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational, planning, and workload monitoring skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capacity to establish trust with individuals at risk of homelessness and build positive relationships.
- Competence in working within a multidisciplinary framework.
- Skill in maintaining precise records related to service user interactions.
- Willingness to travel efficiently between various work locations to fulfill service operational needs.
- Ability to connect with individuals facing multiple challenges.
- Non-judgmental approach.
- Conduct home visits to clients in their own tenancies, temporary accommodations, and hostels.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs and demands of the service.
- Capability to work in an open-plan office or from home as required.
- Willingness to work in different offices based on service needs.
