Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuous running of our production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on-site, working on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.

  • Carry out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on-site.
Requirements:
  • Apprentice-trained Engineer to NVQ level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
  • Understanding of 3 Phase Motors and Variable speed Drives.
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives and Team Leaders from both maintenance and production.
  • Good understanding of current environmental, health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Desirable Skills:
  • 17th OR 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations is desirable, but don't worry - we can provide you with training if required.
  • PLC fault-finding skills are beneficial, with knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC is desirable.
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics will be an advantage.
