We are seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer who will take charge of executing technical projects assigned for consultancy, design, installation, and support for our clients.

LOCATION: Remote (ideally within Scotland)

JOB SPECIFICATION: Senior Technical Solutions Engineer

In this role, you will blend customer-facing skills with specialized expertise and in-depth knowledge of contemporary IT technologies to implement intricate solutions on-site, facilitating business transformation for our clients.

While our Technical Solutions Engineers specialize in various technology domains such as Data Centre, Networks, and Workplace, it is expected that all engineers possess fundamental skills across all areas, embodying a versatile skill set.

This position involves direct interaction with clients in challenging environments. Extensive travel to customer sites may be required, including overnight stays depending on project scope. You will work both independently and as part of a team, primarily responsible for completing tasks within established timelines.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Visiting clients across the UK to provide consultancy, installation, and support services
  • Pre-delivery configuration and testing of servers and workstations according to client specifications
  • Assisting with the unpacking and setup of servers and workstations on-site
  • Receiving fault reports, diagnosing issues, and delivering prompt solutions
  • Evaluating new products and technologies as needed
  • Generating reports for each visit detailing completed work, outstanding tasks, and issues for the project team
  • Securing client approval for all completed projects
  • Supporting Technical Support and Sales teams with inquiries and challenges as necessary
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of hardware and software, as well as a comprehensive understanding of our product range
  • Striving to enhance departmental efficiency by reviewing and refining current procedures and providing constructive feedback

REQUIREMENTS: Senior Technical Solutions Engineer

As a Level 3 role, we are looking for candidates with experience across multiple fields and certifications in several desirable areas, particularly in M365/Cloud, Servers, Virtualization, backup solutions, and networking.

Essential experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Modern Device Management (Microsoft Endpoint Manager, SCCM, Intune, Autopilot, Windows 10 Enterprise)
  • Identity Management (AD, AAD, AAD Connect, MFA, SSO, SAML, Okta)
  • Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office 365, and Microsoft 365 Apps
  • Security (Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint)
  • Compliance (Insider Risk Management, Information Protection, and Governance)
  • Application delivery: VDI solutions (Citrix, VMWare) and Mobile Apps
