We’re looking for a L3 Solution Engineer who will be responsible for completing technical projects assigned for Consultancy, Design, Installation, and support for XMA customers, mostly schools and prisons.

 

LOCATION: Scotland- Remote  (ideally Glasgow, Livingston areas)

 

JOB SPECIFICATION: L3 Solution Engineer

 

 

As a L3 Solution Engineer, you will combine customer facing skills alongside specialist skills and detailed knowledge of modern IT technologies to implement complex solutions onsite, supporting the delivery of business change for our clients.

Whilst Solution Engineers at XMA specialise in one or more technology areas; Data Centre, Networks and Workplace, there is an expectation that all engineers hold core fundamental skills across all areas, a jack of all so to speak.

This is a customer-facing role within challenging environments. There can be extensive travel required to and from customer sites with a requirement to stay overnight depending on location and project size. This position requires working as part of a team or alone and will be primarily responsible for completing tasks within agreed timescales.

In this role, you will be involved in:

  • Visiting customers on site UK-wide to carry out consultancy, installations & support
  • Pre-delivery configuration and testing of servers and workstations to customer specifications
  • Helping with unpacking and setting up of servers and workstations onsite
  • Receiving fault reports, diagnosing, and providing solutions quickly
  • Evaluating new products & technologies when requested
  • Producing reports on every visit detailing work done, outstanding work and issues to the projects team
  • Acquiring customer sign off for all completed projects
  • Assisting Technical Support & Sales with queries and problems when necessary
  • Maintaining current knowledge of hardware and software and a detailed knowledge of the XMA Product range
  • Striving to improve the efficiency of the department by reviewing and improving the current procedures and providing recommendations / feedback

 

 

REQUIREMENTS: L3 Solution Engineer

As a Level 3 role we are looking for previous exposure to multiple fields and experience / certifications in several of the desirable areas, specifically those in M365/Cloud, Servers, Virtualization, backup solutions and networking

Experience in one or more of the following areas is essential:

  • Modern Device Management (Microsoft Endpoint Manager, SCCM, Intune, Autopilot, Windows 10 Enterprise)
  • Identity Management (AD, AAD, AAD Connect, MFA, SSO, SAML, Okta)
  • Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office 365 and Microsoft 365 Apps
  • Security (Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint)
  • Compliance (Insider Risk Management, Information Protection and Governance)
  • Application delivery: VDI solutions (Citrix, VMWare) and Mobile Apps
