Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at HTE Recruitment. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and taking charge of a section when the Head Chef is absent.
About the Role:
- Support the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations
- Take charge of a section of the kitchen, including cooking, plating, and presentation
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stock control
- Develop and maintain a passion for local, seasonal produce and promote this to junior chefs
- Contribute to a positive and productive kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen
- Passion for local, seasonal produce and ability to promote this to junior chefs
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
