Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team at Fairmont St. Andrews, a luxury hotel and resort in Scotland. As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor our time and attendance system to ensure accurate rotas are created and closed on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with our payroll bureau to ensure the accuracy of processing and for deduction summaries and earning statements.
  • Prepare and review daily and weekly payroll reports against forecast.
  • Administer overtime and lieu payments, handle salary queries, and make any necessary wage corrections or adjustments.
  • Provide onboarding support and administration, including leaver administration and contractual changes.
  • Record, monitor, and report on absence and all other leave, ensuring accuracy of NML/NMW rates.
  • Administer pension schemes and foster communication and compliance in the use of our payroll system.
  • Provide general administration assistance within Finance, including processing monthly payroll runs and liaising with department heads to validate data for processing.
  • Prepare payroll cost analysis and journals for review and posting.
  • Meet deadlines and take ownership of the role, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Requirements:

  • Payroll qualifications preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation and employment tax experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in a payroll role.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, and numerical abilities.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A positive attitude, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
