We are excited to present a remarkable opportunity for a Support Worker to become part of a CONTEMPORARY Semi-Independent residential facility. In this role, you will provide assistance to young adults aged 16-18 who are facing Emotional & Behavioral Difficulties (EBD) and may exhibit challenging behaviors.

We seek FLEXIBLE, DRIVEN, and DEDICATED individuals who are eager to positively impact the lives of young people, helping them to grow socially, emotionally, and behaviorally in a nurturing environment.

This position offers a dynamic work environment where no two days are alike, requiring you to thrive in a busy and ever-evolving setting. While the work can be demanding, it is also immensely rewarding.

Position: Support Worker

Salary: £31,840 - £34,240 (Including sleep-in shifts)

Location: Exeter (EX4)

Employment Type: Permanent

Work Hours: 40 hours per week plus 2 sleep-in shifts

Shift Schedule: 7:30am - 10pm - sleep - 7am - 9am

**Candidates must possess a Full UK Driving Licence due to the nature of the role**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young individuals to engage in activities and take charge of their own lives.
  • Maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the home.
  • Effectively manage challenging behaviors as necessary.
  • Safeguard young people from health and welfare risks.
  • Provide support to promote the independence and well-being of residents.
  • Ensure a safe living environment for all young people.
  • Stay informed about each individual's care plan, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
  • Support young people through challenging behaviors with empathy and care.
  • Foster positive working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the lives of the young people.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in another healthcare or social care setting is advantageous but not required.
  • A valid driving license is essential as transportation of young people may be necessary.
  • Applicants must be over the age of 21.
  • Ability to commute to Exeter is required.
