As an Automotive Product Manager at SGS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of Automotive contracts on time, within budget, and in accordance with internal and accreditation requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and adhere to accreditation requirements for SGS United Kingdom Limited.
  • Plan and conduct professional management system audits in accordance with SGS procedures to enable delivery of assessment and certification services that meet customer requirements and appropriate accreditation standards.
  • Maintain and further develop procedures and resources for the profitable delivery of automotive certification.
  • Provide technical expertise, support, and training where required to Technical & Accreditation Manager, SGS UK automotive auditors, affiliates, and line Manager.
  • Expand the range of products and services delivered in the sector and support sales activities.
  • Project management of key clients as required.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Maintain up-to-date sector knowledge and expertise and cascade this to other auditing staff.
  • Research, develop, and maintain Product procedures, quality plans, briefing notes, and guidance notes.
  • Assist Certification Managers to ensure appropriate endorsement of Product Qualification Records for the automotive standards.
  • Adhere to the accredited office's responsibilities stated in the supporting office agreements with the relevant affiliates.
  • In conjunction with the Certification managers, source, manage, and train sub-contracted staff to assist in the delivery of certification work in the Product.
  • Seek opportunities to expand the client base in conjunction with the Sales Manager and Client Managers.
  • Liaise as necessary with professional bodies and organizations to protect and develop the company's commercial and technical interests in the sector.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge and experience of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and ISO 45000.
  • Lead Auditor IATF 16949.
  • Extensive experience within the Automotive industry.
  • Experience of working under own initiative and in planning and prioritizing workloads.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience of managing and leading teams.
  • Developing Quality Management systems.
  • Previous Automotive Project Management experience is advantageous.
  • Degree, Post Grad Diploma, MSc, or equivalent in a relevant subject is advantageous.
