Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We invite applications for the role of Senior Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This position is part of a comprehensive CESR preparation programme designed for advanced training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

The Anaesthetic Department at our institution provides highly specialized services across various surgical subspecialties. Our facilities include a full spectrum of complex surgical procedures, particularly in orthopaedics and plastic surgery. We also serve as a tertiary center for Neurosciences, Transplantation, Complex Obstetrics, Vascular Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Paediatrics.

This fellowship program spans three years and is tailored for candidates pursuing equivalence through the CESR pathway in Anaesthetics. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain extensive experience across all anaesthetic subspecialties and services available at a major teaching hospital.

The structured rotation through various anaesthetic modules is designed to provide the necessary evidence for a successful CESR application. This includes exposure to Neuroanaesthesia, Paediatric Anaesthesia, Pain Management, Intensive Care Medicine, and Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia.

As part of the program, fellows may also have opportunities to train at additional sites, enhancing their learning experience and professional development.

By the conclusion of the fellowship, successful candidates will be well-prepared to submit their CESR applications, having met the required training and evidence standards set forth by the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at the time of application. Proficiency in English, demonstrated through effective communication skills, is essential.

We welcome applications from individuals requiring skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK, and we are committed to considering all applications fairly.

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
