Job Summary

The Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Fellow Higher to join its team in the Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Anaesthesia department. This is a 12-month opportunity for a trainee anaesthetist to further their experience in a supervised training environment.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Completing modular training in subspecialty areas of anaesthesia, tailored to their level of experience
  • Working in the CUH PACU, with a large proportion of the workload
  • After-hours work covering emergencies and supervised theatre lists
About the Role

This position is equivalent to a training post, although it does not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition. The successful candidate will require Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at the time of commencement.

Requirements

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in English, enabling effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues. Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
