Insurance Risk Management Specialist

IDEX Consulting Ltd is seeking a skilled Insurance Risk Management Specialist to enhance our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with underwriting divisions to gather and organize slip and exposure information for submission to external data processing teams, while coordinating with catastrophe modeling units to oversee downstream modeling needs and assist in the validation of modeled results.
- Engage with external exposure processing and catastrophe modeling teams to guarantee that exposure data is precise, suitable, and timely, ensuring that modeling aligns with both internal and external obligations.
- Oversee and assess exposure, modeling, and underwriting workflows to confirm compliance with service level agreements.
- Manage the portfolio closure process, ensuring that all bound risks are thoroughly processed and forwarded to exposure and modeling teams to generate a monthly portfolio overview of bordereaux and modeling documents for distribution.
- Partner with senior underwriting and portfolio management teams to facilitate planning, continuous portfolio monitoring against thresholds and appetites, and drive process enhancements.
- Communicate with external markets to supply necessary data and supporting narrative information, with assistance from catastrophe modeling teams to deliver insights and responses to market inquiries.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proficient in insurance exposure data capture systems and solutions, with experience in Policy Administration and Sequel Impact / OpenX for On/Off-shore Energy risks.
- Strong data analysis capabilities, particularly in Excel and SQL, with a solid understanding of insurance exposure data for Property and On/Offshore Energy sectors; familiarity with industry datasets such as Clarksons is advantageous.
- Experience in interpreting Catastrophe Modeling data outputs from leading vendors such as RMS/AIR, with the ability to communicate key metrics and statistics effectively.
- Background in portfolio management, collaborating with senior underwriting management to advise, plan, and monitor against key appetites and thresholds.
- Desirable experience in Catastrophe Modeling, with a comprehension of the underlying models, including validation and model interrogation.
- Experience in managing a portfolio closure process, ensuring necessary approvals and validation control checks for delegated authority business.
- Strong relationship management skills, demonstrating independence while also being a collaborative team player.
