Salaried GP Fixed Term 12 Month Contract to Cover Maternity Leave

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic General Practitioner to join our team at Witton Street Surgery on a fixed term 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical services to our patients, managing a caseload, and working collaboratively with our existing staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- Provide general medical services, managing a caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
- Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, and develop care plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, and provide counselling and health education as needed.
- Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, and collect data for audit purposes.
- Prescribe in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines, and compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.
- A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice, and contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.
- Contributing to the summarising of patient records and Read-Coding patient data, and attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies as needed.
- Ensuring the practice meets quality standards and receives the designated funding, and participating in an annual individual performance review.
- Relevant qualifications and experience in General Practice, including a strong understanding of primary care principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety, and a willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
