Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic General Practitioner to join our team on a fixed-term 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical services to our patients, managing a caseload, and working collaboratively with our existing team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide general medical services, managing a caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.
  • Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
  • Provide counselling and health education.
  • Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Prescribe in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.
