Job Role

Oversee the management of the operational team within Johnsons 1871, ensuring all documentation is meticulously handled. This role is ideal for individuals with a keen organizational ability and strong attention to detail.

Supplier and Procurement Management

  • Negotiating rates and capturing costs effectively.
  • Issuing purchase orders in accordance with established protocols.
  • Securing approval for purchase orders following the appropriate procedures.
  • Completing subcontractor labor monitoring forms accurately.
  • Identifying new suppliers and evaluating existing ones.

Client Service Administration

  • Ensuring the accuracy of Work Information Sheets prior to distribution and upon receipt.
  • Responsible for confirming the receipt of carton deposits.

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Preparing accruals for review and analysis.

Sales Support

  • Providing information on resource availability and recommended pricing.
  • Advising on product delivery options.

Operational Oversight

  • Coordinating daily operational activities.
  • Allocating appropriate resources effectively.
  • Striving for operational efficiencies through optimal resource management.
  • Confirming work start times and details with clients and team members.
  • Conducting briefings and debriefings with team members.
  • Collaborating with warehouse staff to coordinate related activities.

Team Leadership

  • Ensuring all team members are trained to provide the highest level of service in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Developing team members to meet business requirements.
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Conducting performance management with regular quality oversight and biannual assessments.
  • Managing employment relations within the branch, consulting HR as necessary.
  • Promoting adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring all team members deliver exceptional customer service.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintaining vigilant oversight of all vehicles to ensure compliance with transport regulations.
  • Accountable for supervising the team and monitoring driving hours, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Facilitating communication between clients and operational teams to confirm timelines and assign appropriate teams.
  • Collaborating with leadership to ensure efficient and profitable branch operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplifying excellent communication skills and experience in team management.
  • Motivating team members and promoting collaboration.
  • Managing the daily operations diary, allocating resources, and briefing team members on their tasks.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, collecting daily defect sheets, and conducting equipment checks.
  • Overseeing the completion of timesheets and monitoring hours for legal compliance.
  • Ensuring maximum operational profitability aligns with company budgets.
  • Supporting business development and client management initiatives as needed.
  • Engaging with clients through visits before and after installations to ensure high-quality service and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assisting with branch administration and customer interactions.


Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • In-depth knowledge of the industry with a clear understanding of procedures and legal requirements.
  • Strong IT skills and a CPC qualification at a National Level are advantageous.
  • Experience in planning work schedules; numeracy is essential for operations management.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and management skills to effectively lead a successful team.
  • Ability to problem-solve using initiative, as operations management can present unique challenges.
  • Flexibility to support operational teams as required.
