Retail Operations Director

Jollyes, the award-winning UK pet retailer, is seeking an exceptional leader to drive the success and growth of our northern retail operations. As Head of Retail (North), you will be responsible for overseeing all our retail operations in the North half of the UK, with a focus on delivering outstanding customer experiences, driving sales, and improving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to drive customer loyalty and retention, ensuring a seamless omnichannel experience across all channels.
- Lead a team of 6-8 direct reports, mentoring and developing them to achieve success across various KPI metrics, including sales, cost to serve, customer service, and people measures.
- Oversee the execution of new store openings and refits, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Develop and communicate short, medium, and long-term plans to the area, ensuring all colleagues have a shared vision and purpose.
- Implement a consistent approach to performance through effective one-to-ones and insightful reviews.
- Develop a culture and capability that proactively identifies opportunities to develop and roll out enhanced operational processes to deliver better service for our customers.
- Ensure the stores and regions comply with all company policies and procedures, completing regular site visits and effective communication.
- Expert knowledge of Retail Operations, with previous experience of multi-site retail management and a strong understanding of customer service culture.
- Effective organisational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate messages at all levels.
- Ability to impact and influence others without direct line authority.
- Resilient leader with highly developed leadership and coaching skills.
- P&L management with excellent numerical and analytical skills, able to translate data into insights and actions.
- Engaging presentation skills, with the ability to deliver with confidence and clarity.
- Experience managing remote teams and maintaining successful and productive working relationships.
