We are seeking a part-time Support Worker in the Nelson area to join our Whanau Support Services team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities, budgeting, and meal preparation.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities to participate in community activities and events, promoting social inclusion and connection.
  • Work collaboratively with the individual, their whanau, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized support plans.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with disabilities, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals, whanau, and other stakeholders.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including after-school hours and weekends.
