Position Overview
The Child Maintenance Service (CMS) plays a vital role in assisting parents who are unable to reach a private financial agreement to support their children's living expenses. Our commitment is to ensure that financial support reaches children, significantly impacting their lives.

Key Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be accountable for:
- Overseeing projects with appropriate methodologies and governance frameworks.
- Identifying and assessing project risks and issues, ensuring effective risk management plans are in place.
- Engaging with stakeholders to develop and manage communication strategies.
- Building and leading project teams, including engaging with specialists and suppliers as necessary.
- Planning, developing, and implementing project requirements, along with producing necessary documentation.
- Identifying and managing impacts to ensure project objectives align with business needs.
- Monitoring progress against plans and reporting through established governance structures.
- Staying informed about other initiatives to facilitate contingency planning.
- Commissioning and overseeing work from various business areas and suppliers.
- Implementing changes effectively within CMS Operations.
- Ensuring all project deliverables adhere to the established Change Lifecycle.
- Preparing communication strategies to keep all relevant business areas informed and engaged.
- Providing line management to project support colleagues, offering guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Occasional business travel may be required in the future, primarily between key sites.
Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria:
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM practitioner, or equivalent qualifications and/or extensive experience in managing complex projects, particularly with multiple suppliers and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in meeting challenging deadlines while effectively prioritizing tasks.
- Familiarity with governance and risk control frameworks, including engagement with high-level governance forums.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to translate high-level strategies into detailed operational plans.
- Inclusive leadership skills, capable of building high-performing teams across large organizations.
- Analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-making.
- A commitment to enhancing service delivery for customers and achieving efficiency for taxpayers.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in large, complex organizations.
