GP Practice Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled GP Practice Nurse to join our team at Alrewas Surgery. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as supporting doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. You will work closely with senior nurses to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care, as directed by senior nurses and GPs.
- Provide nursing assistance to doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team.
- Support patients to be healthy through health promotion and protection, encouraging healthy living options and screening activities.
- Implement and participate in routine immunisations and vaccinations, ensuring safe storage, rotation, stock take, and disposal of vaccines.
- Assist in emergency situations and ensure that emergency equipment is kept well stocked and maintained.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Competent basic nursing duties required for the post.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of health and safety and infection control requirements.
- Competent IT skills.
The ideal candidate will be a Registered General Nurse with a demonstrable commitment to professional development. Experience of working in primary care and using Microsoft Office software is desirable.
