Alrewas Surgery is a semi-rural healthcare provider serving a population of 7,000 patients. We are a team of 27 healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, clinical pharmacists, and administrative staff.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nurse to join our nursing team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients, assist doctors and other healthcare professionals, and support patients in maintaining their health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide routine nursing care to patients, including observations, venepuncture, wound care, and specimen collection.
  • Assist doctors with minor surgery and coil fittings.
  • Implement and participate in routine immunisations and vaccinations.
  • Assist in emergency situations and ensure that emergency equipment is well-stocked and maintained.
  • Follow agreed clinical protocols and refer to senior nurses or doctors as appropriate.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Registered General Nurse.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of health and safety and infection control requirements.
  • Competent IT skills.

Desirable

  • Interest in or knowledge of diabetes management.
  • Experience of EMIS Web clinical system.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered General Nurse.
  • Demonstrable commitment to professional development.

Desirable

  • Trained in diabetes care and management.
  • Trained in phlebotomy and wound care.
