Mental Health Specialist Intervention Worker, Family Drug and Alcohol Court

Job Summary

Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist Intervention Worker to join our Family Drug and Alcohol Court team. The successful candidate will work closely with vulnerable children, families, and statutory bodies to provide specialist support and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess parents and deliver one-to-one and group interventions to support their recovery and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on mental health and substance misuse issues.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for staff and partners.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of the team's strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in clinical/therapeutic settings, preferably with vulnerable children and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, sound judgment, analytical thinking, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of mental health and substance misuse issues, including the impact on children and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
