Generalist HR Advisor

A truly generalist HR Advisor opportunity at a leading law firm that puts its people at its core.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful applicant will support the full employee lifecycle, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding. The HR Advisor will also carry out key HR processes including organisation of the appraisal process, benefits, staff absence policies and process including maternity and paternity and compiling firm data. It will include working closely with and supporting the HR Manager with employee relations issues. It will suit someone who enjoys the variety of a generalist HR role within a smaller firm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries
- Responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process, collaborating with managers to develop hiring strategies and building relationships with recruitment agencies
- Responsible for full onboarding and off-boarding processes including inductions and the pre-employment checks
- Assist HR Manager with employee relations issues
- Utilise, maintain and be the team expert on the HR databases
- Producing regular and ad hoc HR statistical reports
- Coordinate HR check-ins with new staff during probation periods and manage the mid-probation and end of probation check-ins
- Assist the HR Manager with annual processes such as appraisals, salary reviews, salary benchmarking, and the firm's engagement survey
- Prepare annual benefits and reward reviews
- Co-ordinating firmwide Learning and Development
- Ensure the HR information system is accurate and up to date
- Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of internal policies, guidelines, procedures and processes
- Over-see the HR Administrator ensuring they accurately maintain personnel files and supporting the retention and deletion of HR data in line with GDPR
- Support the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) initiatives and Well Being Group (WLG) Maintaining
- Prepare monthly updates for payroll
- Other ad-hoc projects as required
Person Specification:
- Previous experience within a generalist HR role, preferably HR Assistant/ HR Advisor
- Degree level qualified desirable
- CIPD qualified or working towards qualification level 5 or above
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build, develop and manage positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
