Position: Test Engineer - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Division

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

BSI offers an exceptional opportunity for a Test Engineer to become part of our Hemel Hempstead laboratories, focusing on our PPE testing team. Our Personal Protective Equipment Division specializes in three main categories - Latex, Headwear, and Eyewear. You will be responsible for testing a diverse range of products, from protective eyewear to safety helmets, ensuring they meet established safety and quality benchmarks. Your role will involve operating testing machinery, addressing routine maintenance challenges, documenting comprehensive testing results, and communicating with clients regarding their product evaluations.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in testing engineering or a related mechanical field, along with a Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, comprehend their needs, and deliver results independently.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and provide updates on project statuses, ensuring outstanding customer service and timely project completion.
  • A commitment to personal development, as you will have opportunities to enhance your technical skills across various laboratories, equipment, and client-specific requirements.
  • Resourceful and solution-focused approach.
  • Proactive and adaptable with a keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, particularly ISO 17025, is a plus.
