Position: Test Engineer - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Team

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

BSI offers a remarkable opportunity for a Test Engineer to become part of our Hemel Hempstead laboratories, specifically within our PPE testing division. Our Personal Safety Team focuses on three main areas: Latex, Headwear, and Eyewear. You will be responsible for testing a diverse range of products, ensuring they meet essential safety and quality standards. This role requires you to operate testing machinery, address routine maintenance issues, meticulously document testing results, and communicate with clients regarding their product evaluations.

Candidate Profile

Previous experience in testing engineering or a mechanical discipline, along with a Mechanical Engineering qualification. Ability to build strong relationships with clients, comprehend their needs, and deliver results independently. Familiarity with Lean methodologies is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and provide updates on project statuses, ensuring exceptional customer service and timely delivery. A commitment to personal development, as you will have opportunities to enhance your technical skills across various laboratories, equipment, and client-specific requirements. Resourceful and solution-focused. Proactive and adaptable with a keen attention to detail. Knowledge of ISO standards, particularly ISO 17025, is a plus.
