About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to join our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team at the London Borough of Newham. As a Team Manager, you will play a critical role in leading and managing a team of social workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve outcomes for children and families, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide supervision and support to social workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver effective services.
  • Collaborate with other teams and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of working in a social work team management role, preferably in a local authority setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
