Position Overview

This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a psychologically informed, highly proficient multidisciplinary team (MDT). The role entails a significant responsibility for advocating psychological methodologies and formulations within the team. The successful candidate will be expected to possess advanced skills in specialized psychological therapies for eating disorders and to effectively deliver these interventions for individuals experiencing severe and persistent eating disorder challenges.

The position also encompasses a broader mission of advancing psychological practices through the mentorship of trainee clinical psychologists, clinical apprentices, assistant psychologists, and placement students. The individual in this role will be tasked with leading psychological initiatives regionally.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Eating Disorder Service, which provides support to the local population. The service offers multidisciplinary community-based assistance. The role includes providing leadership and guidance in team development and enhancing clinical practices, as well as offering supervision both individually and in group settings. The candidate will operate autonomously within professional standards and the overarching framework of the service's policies and procedures. The individual will coordinate and manage a complex caseload of clients and will assist other team members in assessing and formulating client needs.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the relevant professional body.
  • Current Registration with the appropriate regulatory body.

Training

Essential

  • Evidence of post-qualification specialist training relevant to Eating Disorders.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in at least one specialized area of clinical practice gained through post-qualification training and supervised practice.

Desirable

  • Additional relevant post-qualification training.
  • Training related to neurodiversity.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working as a qualified clinical psychologist with adults facing severe and complex mental health challenges.
  • Experience providing specialized clinical psychology services to adult clients and their support systems.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experience in consultation and training across mental health services.
  • Experience in multi-agency collaboration for patient care.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and training to junior psychologists and practitioners.

Desirable

  • Experience in staff training.

Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of various assessment and treatment models for mental health issues.
