We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As a Clinical Psychologist in Children's Renal Service, you will play a vital role in providing specialist clinical psychology services to children and young people with renal conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the medical service multidisciplinary team to provide consultation, direct work, and attend multidisciplinary clinics.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans to help children and young people manage psychological distress and achieve better treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide supervision to other clinical staff as needed.
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to the development of clinical research interests.
- Completed (or due to complete in 2024) postgraduate doctoral level DClinPsy in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS.
- Current HCPC registration for Clinical Psychologist (or eligibility to qualify for registration in 2024).
- Experience of working with people with medical/chronic physical health conditions and across a range of severity and presentations.
- Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.
- Experience of teaching, training, and/or professional and clinical supervision.
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, with other disciplines including medicine and nursing.
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Previous training in medical psychology.
- Training in the supervision of other psychological professionals.
- Experience of working in an acute hospital with children and young people with medical/chronic health conditions.
- Experience of assessing and treating patients with renal conditions.
- Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
- Experience of providing supervision to other clinical staff.
- Experience conducting clinical research.
