Clinical Psychologist in Paediatric Renal Service

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Paediatric Renal Service at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical psychology services for children and young people with renal conditions, helping them to better manage psychological distress and achieve better treatment outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people with medical/chronic health conditions, exercising clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, and providing consultation to staff, direct work, and attending multidisciplinary clinics. They will also have strong communication and relationship skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, their families, carers, and other professional colleagues.
The successful candidate will be part of a welcoming and growing Clinical Psychology Department, which incorporates specialisms in Paediatric Psychology, Adult Medical Psychology, and Child and Adult Neuropsychology. They will have opportunities for continued professional development, clinical supervision, and participation in research or developing their clinical research interests.
About the Role- Provide specialist clinical psychology services for children and young people with renal conditions
- Work closely with the medical service multidisciplinary team to provide consultation, direct work, and attending multidisciplinary clinics
- Exercise clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment
- Develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional, and academic settings
- Participate in research or developing clinical research interests
- Completed (or due to complete in 2024) postgraduate doctoral level DClinPsy in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
- Current HCPC registration for Clinical Psychologist (or eligibility to qualify for registration in 2024)
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- Previous training in medical psychology
- Training in the supervision of other psychological professionals
- Opportunities for continued professional development and clinical supervision
- Participation in research or developing clinical research interests
