Job Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to assist students with additional needs in reaching their academic and personal goals.

You will collaborate closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other educational professionals to ensure that students receive tailored support and encouragement to thrive both academically and socially.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with additional needs, either one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Assist students with their class assignments and homework.
  • Support behavior management efforts and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Offer constructive feedback to educators regarding student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Prior experience working with children and young individuals, ideally in an educational context.
  • A solid understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the challenges some students may encounter.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A proactive and positive approach to supporting students with additional needs.

Qualifications:
A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
