Job Title: Waking Nights Officer for Children with Disabilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Nights Officer to join our team at Doncaster Council. As a Waking Nights Officer, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people with disabilities and complex care needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work under the supervision of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and senior residential care officers to provide a warm, caring, and enabling environment for children and young people.
  • Assist with general housekeeping, including washing and ironing of young people's clothes, cleaning the home, and completing paperwork for children's files.
  • Ensure the discreet oversight of young people at regular intervals during the night or as directed by the Manager or senior officers.
  • Report and liaise with other agencies, such as the Police and social care, if a young person is missing from care.
Requirements:
  • Good communication skills and basic IT skills.
  • Ability to work independently with support from a sleeping-in member of staff.
  • Competence to attend training and implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Signs of Safety model.
  • QCF Level 3 qualification within two years of enrolment.
