We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Nights Officer to join our team at Doncaster Council. As a key member of our Residential Services for Children with Disabilities, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people with complex care needs.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and senior residential care officers to provide a warm, caring, and enabling environment for children and young people.
- Conduct discreet oversight of young people at regular intervals during the night, ensuring their safety and security.
- Complete tasks set out on the shift plan, including general housekeeping, paperwork, and clerical duties.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with children, young people, and their families, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Signs of Safety.
- Hold a QCF Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Have experience working with children and young people with complex care needs.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including night shifts, and participate in on-call rotas as required.
