Waking Night Children's Residential Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Children's Residential Officer to join our team at Doncaster Council. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for looked-after children and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of the Registered Manager and senior residential care officers to provide a warm and enabling environment for children and young people.
- Contribute to general housekeeping, including laundry, cleaning, and completing paperwork for children's files.
- Develop good communication skills and basic IT skills to effectively work with colleagues and support the needs of children and young people.
- Ensure the discreet oversight of children and young people at regular intervals during the night, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Collaborate with other agencies, such as the Police and social care, in the event of a child going missing from care.
- Flexibility to provide cover for other night care officers when on annual leave, training, or sick leave.
- Ability to work independently with support from a sleeping-in member of staff and complete tasks set out on their shift plan.
- Willingness to undertake and complete any required training, including QCF level 3 within two years of employment.
- Competence to complete training and implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Signs of Safety model.
