With no minimum purchase requirement, our diverse range features over 1,000 wines, spirits, and beers, available both online and in-store. Our strength lies in our team of over 1,000 WSET-trained staff who provide knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly customer service across all platforms.
Your Role
As an Assistant Manager at Majestic, you will play a pivotal role in supporting your Store Manager to drive sales performance and oversee the daily operations of your store. Your focus will be on delivering an outstanding customer experience while optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintaining high operational standards. You will also mentor junior team members, helping them to excel and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist your Store Manager in enhancing store performance and managing daily operations. Take charge of the store and team in their absence.
- Boost store performance by capitalizing on sales opportunities. Identify key KPIs and develop strategies to improve them and surpass targets.
- Provide exceptional customer service to foster business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Offer a VIP concierge experience to customers by proactively communicating updates on products and tastings.
- Share your passion for our products by managing tasting events and creating an engaging tasting counter.
- Contribute to the recruitment, management, and development of the team. Act as a mentor and support for junior team members, providing feedback to your Store Manager as needed.
- Encourage junior team members to enhance their product knowledge and pursue their WSET qualifications while continuously expanding your own knowledge.
- Take pride in the appearance and upkeep of your store, ensuring prompt reporting and resolution of any issues.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement to optimize store operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and complete mandatory training to maintain a safe and legal working environment.
- Facilitate the dissemination of store, regional, and business updates and communications.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality setting.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and experience.
- Understanding of retail KPIs and strategies for driving improvements.
- Ability to prioritize and solve problems strategically in high-pressure situations.
- Self-motivated with the capability to thrive both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to resolving challenges.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- WSET Level 2 Qualification is essential, with a willingness to pursue WSET Level 3 to advance to Store Manager.
- Possession of a full UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
