Job Description

Sales Director

Alexander Steele Recruitment is delighted to announce a partnership with a leading FMCG brand to find a Sales Director to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve business goals and revenue targets through strategic planning and execution
  • Lead a team of Regional and Area Managers to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and set performance objectives across all regions
  • Collaborate with the board and stakeholders to drive business growth and development
  • Implement business, marketing, and advertising plans to drive sales and revenue growth
  • Plan, evaluate, and optimize operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Prepare and present monthly analysis and reports on operations and sales initiatives
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth and meet revenue targets
  • Provide feedback on competitor positioning and market trends
  • Contribute to the creation of commercial and promotional activity to drive sales and revenue growth

Retail Operations

  • Develop and implement robust processes to ensure store standards and cleanliness
  • Manage regional functions, analysis, and documentation
  • Ensure adherence to company promotional and commercial guidelines
  • Liaise with the Operations Department on store stock positions and efficiency
  • Manage Area Sales Managers, Cluster Managers, and store hours across the estate
  • Lead day-to-day management and leadership of the retail business

Budgeting and Cost Control

  • Create working schedules to ensure labour spending is under budget
  • Liaise with the Finance Director on monthly P&L performance and drive efficiencies
  • Control cost of stationery and consumable items in store
  • Oversee regional field team travel and adherence to company travel and expenses policy

Communications and Inter-Department Links

  • Coordinate with HQ teams for operational process execution
  • Develop strong inter-departmental links with cross-functional department heads
  • Provide weekly reports on regional, cluster, and individual store performance
  • Own the weekly retail store bulletin and relative store communications
  • Attend monthly sales review meetings with the Managing Directors

Staff Development

  • Recruit, train, and manage performance of team members to ensure targets are met
  • Identify key areas to drive sales performance and implement action to achieve sales growth
  • Support and create initiatives for company KPIs, staff incentive scheme, and other prioritized initiatives
  • Set an example for team members of commitment, process, and activities

Projects

  • Contribute to the redevelopment of sales training and staff development training plans
  • Lead the review and relaunch of the new start welcome pack, contents, and internal system process
  • Review training practices, E-Learning processes, and modules to align with company goals
