Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Peer Support Development Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our established Emotion Regulation Pathway (ERP) team, supporting individuals with Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) in Derbyshire.

About the Role

As a Peer Support Development Worker, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. You will be part of a small ERP Short-Term team working within one or two locality areas, supporting individuals with CEN in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist
  • Work closely with the ERP team to deliver evidence-based approaches, such as DBT and MBT informed Structured Psychological Support
  • Support individuals with CEN in their recovery journey, promoting person-centred care and enabling recovery
  • Contribute to audits, collection of statistics, and development of research projects
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Lived experience of mental health services as a recipient of care
  • Experience of working in the field of patient, public involvement, or improvement
  • An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health issues and those presenting with CEN
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with colleagues and other service providers
