About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Mechanical Systems team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the delivery of mechanical engineering projects to clients or internal project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand client requirements and aspirations to identify and agree scopes of work.
  • Deliver high-quality work to agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of rolling stock areas, including bogies and suspension, wheelsets, bearings and transmissions, braking systems and performance, door systems, couplers and gangways, corrosion repairs and fabrication, and engines.
  • Investigate in-service issues and devise practical repair solutions.
  • Improve system reliability through the review of fault data and recommendation for modifications.
  • Manage technical, commercial, and safety risks associated with projects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
