About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at RPS Group. As a key member of our Water Consulting business, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional mechanical design solutions to our clients in the water industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for water treatment and distribution projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, schedules, and reports for mechanical design projects.
  • Provide technical input and guidance to junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Contribute to the development of process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and other technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, including CDM and HAZOP.
Requirements
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with a professional institution such as IMechE.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles and water industry experience.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in design tools and software, such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
  • Ability to travel and visit operational and construction sites as required.
