About the Role

As a Principal Marine Design Engineer - Stage 1 at Expleo Technology, you will be part of a dynamic team that requires adaptability and responsiveness to changes in technology, innovation, and client requirements. You will have the opportunity to work on concept sub-surface vessel design, complex engineering design & analysis tasks, the creation of new & innovative tools & processes, the delivery of engineering consultancy services, and the development of solutions & other emerging technologies across a wide range of global maritime programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams, providing guidance and direction to less experienced team members to support effective working and personal development. Provide mentoring support, guidance, and leadership to enable opportunities for the Marine Design Engineering capability to grow and develop skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Make informed engineering decisions within your sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant technical areas, develop skills and capabilities to provide more effective services, and supply technical support and expertise to others as required.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to successfully discharge the role.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Naval Engineering), or equivalent experience in the naval and commercial ship design, construction, or maintenance domain.
  • Professional member of a relevant engineering institution (RINA, IMarEST, IMechE).
  • Recognised as a Chartered Engineer by the UK Engineering Council (or an ability to achieve within 6 months).
