Job Overview – What to Anticipate:
In the role of Lead Legal Advisor, you will deliver legal counsel and assistance to the organization on commercial and operational issues. This includes supporting local market regions within EMEA (such as Central and Eastern Europe) and across CooperVision as necessary.
You will serve as the primary contact for all legal inquiries arising in the designated market regions and act as the legal lead for various initiatives across CooperVision.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the EMEA legal team to provide guidance and support on all legal matters in the designated market regions, while also leading various projects in EMEA and across CooperVision. Oversee the structuring, negotiation, and drafting of significant strategic and operational commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, procurement, and outsourcing contracts. Proactively identify potential legal risks to the organization and collaborate with management and the EMEA/Global legal team to develop and implement systems and solutions to mitigate these risks, including delivering preventive training and communications. Assist Sales and Marketing teams by providing legal advice regarding EMEA promotions, campaigns, and advertising, ensuring compliance with EU regulations (including competition laws), local laws, and governance standards. Engage and manage external legal counsel as necessary to ensure compliance with local laws and effectively handle litigation matters. Support all enabling functions (including Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance) on legal issues. Possess a solid understanding of competition laws within the EU and their application and interpretation in an international corporate environment. Actively collaborate with other legal professionals within CooperVision and The Cooper Companies, Inc. to promote local alignment with global best practices and facilitate knowledge sharing.A comprehensive job description is available upon request.
About You:
You will be a fully qualified, seasoned UK commercial attorney, with relevant experience in either a law firm or in-house legal role. A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience is preferred, although candidates with slightly less experience who meet other criteria are encouraged to apply.
You will possess a broad range of general commercial experience, be an exceptional communicator at all levels, and ideally have experience working within an international context in a large organization.
