Job Summary – What to Expect:
As the Global Compliance and Legal Operations Leader at CooperVision, you will spearhead the development, implementation, and management of a robust ethics and compliance framework that aligns with CooperCompanies' compliance objectives and policies. This role will also encompass global trade compliance matters, particularly focusing on sanctions, while leading and coordinating international projects and initiatives related to Global Legal Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, propose, and maintain up-to-date policies and practices that enhance compliance across CooperVision, in alignment with CooperCompanies.
- Collaborate with the Legal team to organize and conduct training sessions on compliance topics.
- Partner with the broader business and Legal team to establish compliance horizon scanning initiatives.
- Identify critical risk areas and implement remediation strategies for compliance and risk management.
- Assist in instructing and managing external legal counsel as needed for global trade compliance issues, with a particular emphasis on sanctions.
- Provide support in analyzing, implementing, and managing internal processes to ensure adherence to global trade compliance regulations, focusing on sanctions.
- Lead, support, and coordinate international projects and initiatives related to Global Legal Operations to promote consistency, efficiency, and best practices.
- Implement scalable legal process enhancements that facilitate business growth while ensuring compliance.
- Oversee and manage ad hoc risk and compliance projects.
About You:
You will possess a minimum of 5 years of in-house experience in structuring, developing, and executing global ethics and compliance programs. Experience in a legal capacity is beneficial, but candidates with a background in risk and compliance roles may also be considered.
Key attributes include a commercially minded approach, decisiveness, exceptional organizational skills, and strong project management capabilities.
You will be an outstanding communicator, capable of leading meetings, delivering training, and effectively collaborating in a multicultural environment.
